Go Greener
Every quarter we challenge our employees to focus on personal, professional, or community development. The reward? The opportunity to wear casual attire for the next quarter. As an environmentally conscious organization we challenged our employees to “Go Greener” in their personal lives for Q1 of 2020. We know small changes implemented gradually can give people time to learn and unlearn behaviors. Everyone had a slightly different take. It’s inspiring to see how people rise

Small Steps Can Make A Big Difference
This is a post about shifting mindsets and embracing the notion that little things in life matter. An interesting thing happened the other day in the office. Our supply of plastic coffee straws ran out. Instead of reordering the straws, they were replaced with bamboo stirrers. For some people, the plastic straw is symbolic of the morning coffee ritual. It’s the tool that can be used to blend the coffee, sugar and milk together, carefully test the temperature of the bev

Holiday Season(ing)
Marylanders take a lot of pride in their state. Being a Maryland born and bred company, that includes us. For the past several years we’ve used the holiday season to tip a cap to our state by sending out holiday greeting that ties back to our home. One year we spelled out “Happy Holidays” using pictures of letters from monuments, historic structures, and brands from various places around Baltimore. Another year we used a blue crab as the imagery for our greeting. Another

The Gift of Giving Green
We are always looking for ways to give back and support our local community. Continuing the theme of "Reduce, Recycle, Reuse" from the previous two months, our team decided to spread the warmth of the holiday season by collecting gently used hats, scarves, gloves, and winter coats for Charm City Warmth Drive. Charm City Warmth Drive collects and distributes to five local shelters in the Baltimore metro area that help homeless youth, single women with children and veterans. A

Fighting Global Poverty & Reducing Waste
We look for creative ways to reduce waste and positively impact the world around us. In early November, we launched a drive with the goal of collecting 100 pairs of new and used shoes from our employees. The shoes we collected were delivered to Soles4Souls–a non-profit that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world. Founded in 2006, the organization has distributed more than 30 million pairs of shoes in 127

Breast Cancer Awareness Month - An Uplifting Cause to Support The Girls
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A lot of activities occur to raise the focus on breast cancer and those in our lives who have been impacted by it. We encourage our employees to find ways to support and give back to the community. In the past, our team has raised money and walked in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® to support the cause. This year our female employees decided to support their “sisters” by donating gently used bras to The Bra Recyclers. Accord

Running Wild to Raise Awareness
Every year we challenge our employees to think about others, give back to their community and raise money for various causes. We accomplish this by donating to or volunteering with a charity of their choice. Benelogic is headquartered in the Baltimore metro area, which is home to some of the best hospitals, specialty medicine, and medical care in the country. With so many worthy causes to choose from, it’s hard to pick just one. But this year employees rallied around Pathfind

Supporting Our Local Community
The events that transpired in Baltimore this week paint a picture of city divided and teetering on total destruction. People from all walks of life are wondering what more they can do to help tackle the problems facing not only our city, but our broader community. Everyone seems paralyzed by inaction, but the reality is change is a slow process and it requires everyone’s involvement, not just the ones most directly impacted. Benelogic supports the community and always has. It

Putting the Pep Back in Employees' Holiday Steps
Some say the end of the year holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year. It’s also the busiest. This is particularly true for people working in the benefits industry. Trying to strike a balance between a heavy workload and an endless holiday task list makes it next to impossible to enjoy the spirit of the holiday season. Recognizing how difficult it can be to get everything done some days, we invited November Iglehart, stylist and company representative for Stella

Connecting Local Schools With Technology
Today we donated thirty-two (32) computers to two local schools – Federal Hill Preparatory School and Francis Scott Keys Middle School, both located in Baltimore City. The computers will serve as replacements for ones lost as during Title I cutbacks. We first began donating computers to local schools in 2005. Then Baltimore Raven Adalius Thomas reached out to our CEO, Matthew Oros, about sponsoring a golf tournament to raise funds for Johnnycake Elementary School (Catonsvill

Celebrating the Olympic Spirit with "BenOlympics"
We just held our third “BenOlympics” in celebration of the 2012 Summer Games and the Olympic spirit. Our employees gathered at Oregon Ridge Park in beautiful Baltimore County to compete in tests of athletic and intellectual prowess. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and got into the competition. It’s not every day you see your coworkers with Oreo cookies on their foreheads and stockings over their eyes. Our “work hard, play hard” attitude is one of the things our employees

Green Recognition
We take pride in being a green company. So when two of our clients were recognized in Baltimore SmartCEO’s article, “ECO CEO, Recognizing Environmental Excellence in Business”, it was natural for us to find a eco-friendly way to applaud and congratulate our clients for their commitment to green corporate initiatives. The focus of Benelogic’s business is to eliminate the need for paper and increase efficiencies for businesses. As we researched eco-friendly recognition gifts

We Celebrate St. Patrick's Day by Going Green
While most people celebrate St. Patrick's Day with green spirits and shamrock themed attire, we decided not only to dress in green, but to 'Go Green'. Since our inception, we've pushed the envelope by converting outdated paper-based benefits enrollment and communication practices to electronic, reducing financial and environmental waste. So when a group of our employees presented the idea to take the green theme of St. Patrick's Day one step further by challenging each othe

Our Employees Rallies To Support Haitian Relief Efforts
A core part of our culture is to embrace a work style that is, among other things, passionate and energetic. Benelogic has long been focused on supporting the community and charitable organizations in the Mid-Atlantic region. However, following the devastating earthquakes that destroyed much of Haiti, Benelogic’s Employee Committee rallied together to raise money to support the Haitian relief efforts. The committee exercised care in selecting the relief organization to suppo
