Celebrating Success - Corporate Community Challenge

Updated: Jan 5, 2022

One of the hallmarks of our corporate culture is the constant challenge of status quo – both professionally and personally. In support of this, every quarter, we challenge our employees to engage and rally around a general theme. The bonus for meeting or exceeding the goals of the challenge is three months of casual attire at the office. This quarter’s challenge centered around community service. In the past, this translated into participation in fundraising for breast cancer awareness or volunteering for local charities. This year, the goal was a bit more specific – to get 75% of the staff certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in a single day. Getting certified is about being prepared in case of an emergency for our families, loved ones, and community-at-large.  We felt this was a great way to engage our employees in an activity that potentially benefits the people around them. According to the American Heart Association, cardiac arrest is reversible in most victims if it’s treated within a few minutes. Thanks to the training provided by the Baltimore County Fire Department, Benelogic staff can support their broader community with their newly acquired lifesaving skills in case of an emergency. The training also included proper use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Working in the technology field, our staff learns to always be prepared for the unexpected and to respond quickly and efficiently to situations that arise.  Similarly, a medical emergency can happen anytime, anywhere. The more prepared we are to deal with the situation, the better the chances of a positive outcome. The CPR training we provided our employees allows them to extend their responsive skills outside the office.
